Kyra Desantos

Kyra Desantos is a Senior Engineer at Texas Instruments (TI)  in defect analysis. She currently volunteers and leads the Lehi Chapter of Texas Instruments ABLE Employee Resource Group (ERG), which focuses on seen and unseen disabilities. She’s worked in the semiconductor industry for 12 years and spent 13 years in the US Navy working in the Nuclear Power Field. She has a Bachelor of Science in Applied Science and Technology: Nuclear Technologies and an Associates of Science in Applied Science and Technology: Radiation Protection. She is currently working on her Electrical Engineering Degree.

Attending Autcon in 2022 set Kyra on a path to discovery, where she learned at 45 (diagnosed) that she is autistic. This realization helped her understand why she has excelled at technical roles and why she wants to inspire others on the spectrum to explore technical careers. Kyra recently drove the successful effort to add autism to the list of desirable diversity hiring goals for 2023 at TI. She was given ARUCC's Michael Sproul Community Spirit Award for 2024. Her interests include spending time with her family, Science Fiction, Nature Photography, and volunteering at New Hope Academy, leading sessions in 3D printed model painting.
